Another World Cup game, another draw which forced a penalty shootout. Costa Rica and Greece took to the pitch Sunday evening for a chance at the quarter-finals. Greece was playing defensively fearing Costa Rica’s counterattack. Eventually, Costa Rica would break through and scored in the 52nd minute. The equalizer from Greece (Sokratis) came in stoppage time at the end of the second half. Overtime ensued and at the end of the scoreless period, penalty shots were taken. It would be Navas’ saves from 2 penalty kicks that allowed Costa Rica to win 5-3 and move onto the quarter-finals for the first time.
