NFL Draft review: Washington Redskins

Super Bowl – Redskins bolstered their team with 8 new player including Trent Murphy. “This will be interesting to see how he’s used. I liked him better as an outside linebacker. He led the NCAA in sacks (15 in 2013), but he’s not an explosive dynamic pass rusher. But he’s relentless.”, Charles Davis

NFL Draft review: Tennessee Titans

Super Bowl – Taylor Lewan from Michigan joined the Titans during this year’s NFL Draft. Mike Mayock had this to say, “They signed Michael Oher in free agency to play right tackle. Michael Roos, their starting left tackle, will turn 32 years old this season. I guess they trusted their board here. Lewan was the best available and the Titans took the best available player. He was the best athlete among offensive tackles testing at the NFL Scouting Combine. He has to get a little better in power. He has a nasty streak and occasionally you can see the power. Lewan is an immediate starter and will help the Tennessee Titans.”

NFL Draft review: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Super Bowl – Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Draft picks.

For their first round pick analysis, Mike Mayock said this, “He’s what today’s wide receiver is all about, with the advent of back-shoulder fade, and with big wide receivers playing outside the numbers and in the red zone. The buzz word is catching radius. When paired with Vincent Jackson it’s going to be like basketball on grass.”

NFL Draft review: Seattle Seahawks

Super Bowl – Current Super Bowl champions, Seahawks, chose nine players during the draft. Analysis of their 2nd round pick, “That’s a Pete Carroll pick right there. Richardson is pure speed; think of a poor man’s DeSean Jackson. Richardson can take the lid off a defense. The Seahawks just got a bunch of speed.”, Mike Mayock

In just a few weeks, The Counting Crows will be heading out on a much anticipated summer tour! The tour comes just before the release of the bands fourth studio album release. “We spent the fall writing songs in New York, and we spent the winter recording them out in Berkeley. Joining in on the fun are special guests Toad The Wet Sprocket! “We’re honored to be on the road with Counting Crows on the summer of our 25th anniversary. We recently released New Constellation, our first album in 16 years. Adam Duritz is partially responsible – five years after we broke up, he asked us to reform and play a few shows opening for Counting Crows,” said lead vocalist and guitarist Glen Phillips. “That tour was the first crack in the ice, and now we are back together, touring again with the band that first encouraged us to give it another go.”

NFL Draft review: San Francisco 49ers

Super Bowl

Pick analysis for Jimmie Ward from Mike Mayock, “He’s a true free safety. The concern is frame (5-foot-11, 193 pounds) and durability is an issue. He can play strong safety, but I worry about his frame over a 16-game season. This is a kid who’s a natural center fielder, but he’ll move up to make a play (against the run).” Jimmie was the first round pick for the 49ers.

NFL Draft review: San Diego Chargers

Super Bowl – Chargers first pick was Jason Verrett from TCU. “This is one of my favorite players in the entire draft. The knock is his size (5-foot-9, 189 pounds), but he’s feisty and so competitive. Sometimes a bigger wideout can take advantage of a matchup against him.”, Mike Mayock
